Jerry Remy's Message To Children: "Don't Smoke"

Some of you may have noticed that Boston Red Sox commentator Jerry Remy has been MIA for the last few weeks. Today he released a statement revealing that he underwent surgery for lung cancer late last year and that he recently experienced a set back due to an infection and came down with pneumonia. He will be taking an indefinitely leave of absence and until he returns Red Sox fans will have to put up with Dennis Eckersley commenting on how bad umpires are, and Dave Roberts (the same Dave Roberts who stole the most famous base in Red Sox history back in 2004 against the Yankees). I can't wait! In a statement Remy released today he said:

"I want to focus on completing my recovery so that I can return to work without distractions or interruptions. I hope that disclosing my bout with cancer will reinforce the dangers of smoking to every member of Red Sox Nation, especially the children."

It's nice to see that Remy only cares about members of Red Sox Nation since those are probably the only people who care about him so screw everyone else!
